Where to start?

It's been so long and so much as happened since I last blogged.

First, we finally moved into our new home!

Sorry it is a picture of a picture.

This has been a long and stressful processes which I had fallen off the wagon which you can see and gained some weight back. (we will get to that in a second)

While babysitting, starting a new semester with 4 classes, and trying to build and move into a new house was extremely stressful and chaotic so I turned to food. I ended up dropping the babysitting because I was offered a full time job. Yeah, I already have enough on my plate what is one more going to hurt. So eating health took a back seat which is no excused but I was going through so much and my emotions were going crazy. With all this exciting and happy times going on I was actually depressed. It took my husband and I 6 years to finally buy our own house and I had no family to share it with. My family is all back home in California and no one has been able to come see it. That is why we sent out announcements.

That being said, we are finally settled (to some point) and I'm getting the hang out school, work, dinner, and house work that it's time to focus on me. I always watch a YouTube family the Shaytards and Shay is doing a diet bet so I signed up. It starts the 15th and I did my weigh in today. I'm not ready to share how much I gained back but I will keep you guys updated on my progress.

I'm excited to get back into the groove of things with workouts and eating right.

Insanity is calling my name!

Thursday, June 6, 2013

Was excited now disappointed!

So I saw an add on Facebook for a local gym about doing insanity as a group. They stated it would cost $45.50 a month but it is 6 days a week. I was like ok I can do that. I kept reading and disappointment sets in.

You also have to pay an additional cost of $35.00 a month for the gym membership. So I commented so your saying in order to do this insanity program you have to pay $80.50 a month? In a nut shell their response was pretty much  yes but you get to also use all the gym equipment during the hours of 1pm-9pm(that's the only time they are open) The price is a lot but it helps people be successful when they do it as a group. Plus the DVD program is pricey. I said but what about the people that don't need the gym (my apartment has a full gym that is 24 hours) and I have the DVDs but I live in an upstairs apartment so I can't do them. So I would really like to do this group thing. Their response "we can't help you. sorry. good luck"

Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind paying to do this.

My husband was laughing at me and making fun of me because I was getting flustered. Here is my reasoning:

1. Why are you charging more for the insanity than your own gym? $35 for the gym and $45.50 for the class. (they say the DVDs cost a lot) Which brings me to my next issue.

2. Why pay $80.50 a month to do it when you can get the DVDs for $90-100 (sometimes cheaper) and you can do it as long as you want?

3. Why would you want to use the rest of the gym when the insanity would be 6 days a week and that kicks your @$$ as is.

4. You know you are over charging if you say well we can't help you and delete my questions. I can't even find the post anymore.

I didn't mean for my questions to sound ugly when asking about why it was so much. I guess I could of worded it better.

That brings me to why I'm disappointed. I thought it was a great idea and would totally do it but I think it is over priced. This is an extremely small town and I do not see many people paying $80 for a class but good for them if they have a good turn out. I would of been all for paying the $45.50 and doing it but being forced to pay for a gym I would use is different. This town is nothing but miners the work 12 hour shift work. I do not know how they expect to get business if they are only open during those hours. The gym doesn't look like it has a lot of equipment. Maybe it's the city girl in me where I been to a 24 fitness and planet fitness. The gyms are fully stocked, you could go at anytime, and not have to pay extra for a class.

Let me know what your thoughts are? Am I just crazy or do you think $80.50 a month is a good deal?

4 year old Super Hero!

Two nights ago my 4 year old and I went swimming. I forgot his floaties but told him not to go in too far. The pool is one you can just walk in like the beach. There was a little 2 year old boy also without floaties and the mom was sitting really far away. I was sitting in the Jacuzzi but was keeping a close eye on him. I'm paranoid. Mitchell goes in almost to his shoulders I tell him he is going to far. The little boy fallows  my son and now he's under the water. The mom runs over and starts screaming and doesn't even go in to get her son. I tell Mitchell pick him up. So Mitchell picks up the boy and carries him to the little boy's mom. The little boy was under for a while but starts coughing so he was ok. My 4 year old just saved a little boys life. The worse part about it was the mom starting yelling at the 6 year old little girl because she wasn't watching her brother. The 6 year old was in the Jacuzzi. Why wasn't the mom sitting on the end of the pool where the 2 year old was playing? It was night time and you can hardly see a crossed the pool at night. Not only that the 6 year old had floaties on not the 2 year old. Why are you making a non swimmer watch another non swimmer? Maybe I am just a paranoid mom but when it comes to water and babies it makes me have anxiety.

On a cute note, Mitchell's words when we get home "I'm a super hero" as he flexes his arms. Yes you are my boy.

Opertation Red Bikini results

I have always struggled with weight. In high school I was healthy and not over weight but I thought I was.
High School Jr year 2003

College 2005 believe it or not I weighed 160 and was only 17-18% body fat.
About 190 lbs on my wedding day.

Dec 2009 I was working out for a couple months and got down to 165.
Oct 2011Gained it all back and I was at about 195 here.

I was very athletic growing up which kept my weight healthy but when I got married and had a kids life hit me. So when I saw the scale read 217 back in October 2012 I was devastated. That is the most I have ever weighed. What made things worse was I finally got the courage to take family pictures and cried because I hated them. The photographer did an awesome job but you can't hide all the weight..

Love my son in this picture but I look pregnant.
Another one I would love but I hate the huge double chin.

I started doing insanity the end of October 2012 but got hurt yet again 2 weeks later. Around December I came across Mama Laughlin's blog and loved it. I loved that she didn't sugar coat anything about weight loss. She tells it like it is and got me wanting to start my own blog. I started stocking some other blogs and loved the community and support. Then I came across Southern Girl Gets Fit and read about Operation Red Bikini in February and got excited about working out again. I have lost 30 since February and had to buy a new bathing suiting. No its not a red bikini but I had a new one in January and I was swimming in it (literally) and had to buy a new one in May.

I still have tons of work to do.
But I am proud of what I have done so far.

Maybe I will start a new link up to keep the motivation going. I look forward to reading these stories because success stories motivate me.

Summer Time!!!!

This is going to be very short but I had to announce I am officially on summer break.
I just took my last final!!
I have to babysit for two more weeks and then it's time for me to buckle down and get this weight off.
I am supper excited!!!

No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
When the teacher rings the bell
Drop your books and run like hell!!!

I want to be laying on the beach drinking one of these!!!

Friday, May 3, 2013

Hello Friday!!

I am so excited it's Friday!
I babysit during the week and I need a break.
This coming week is finals and I am ready to be done.
Summer Break means= NO SCHOOL, NO BABYSITTING, and GOING HOME TO CALI TO VISIT!!!!

If you have been reading my blogs you know I have been trying to get my husband to lose some weight with me. Finally he has motivation. I can't exactly say the reason but I am glad. He works shift work and when he is off he always wants to go out to eat and since he needs/wants to lose weight no more temptation to eat out. It's good for our son to see us working out and eating right. Whenever I put my running shoes on he asks me if I am going to workout. He even asks if he can go with me. So I have 2 new work out buddies.

I think I am starting to get in the grove of things. I lost the 3 pounds I gained just by drinking lots of water, eating cleaner (not totally clean still working on that), and getting back in the gym.

My lunch today. It's my go to lunch when I can't think of anything.
Romaine, 1/2 avocado, salsa, 1/4 cup black beans, Tyson fajita chicken strips, feta cheese.

Also, I ordered some wraps form Alexis @ It works. I will let you guys know how it goes. Maybe I will be brave enough to post my before and after pictures. We will see. That's my favorite saying to tell my son. bwahahah

Now I need to finishes some homework, get ready for my son's Tball game, and Get stuff out for dinner.

Tomorrow I will be getting my hair done. I'll post pictures on my Instagram.

My goals this weekend:
No eating out
Workout both Saturday and Sunday!!

So much going on!

Oh how I've missed this blog world because my world has been crazy!

I officially lost 30 pounds. Woohoo. Oh and I had a workout buddy a week ago.

Now for the craziness of my life.
First I had some medical girly problem a couple weeks ago.

Then I started working out after I started feeling better and got major case of shin splints.

Oh and my husband and I decide we want to build a house instead of buy and all last week I have been doing the run around getting the paper work and loan stuff done. (this made me have a couple of melt downs). My husband thinks since I went to real state school that I can do it on my own. This is our first house and I just don't want anything to go wrong. I will do a separate blog later on when the house starts to go up.

I found out this week my grandma stopped her dialysis because she's ready to go HOME. She's tired of being in so much pain but she's ready to go any day now. Sad part is I haven't seen her in about 3 to 4 years. I live in New Mexico and my whole family is in California. I was able to talk to her and make her laugh today. Glad I caught her when she was still good. My dad said there is times she doesn't know who people are.

Oh and this is my last week of class. Next week is finals.

Some foods I have been eating:

My new obsession!! So good. Jennie-O Turkey Burger w/ jalapeño and pepper jack inside.
I added 1/2 avocado and ketchup. I have had this for the past 4 days.

This is something I have been eating for years. Cucumber, tapatio, lemon juice and little bit of salt and pepper but this time I also added Avocado. So good.

My goal for this week is to get back into the groove of things.
So I started a new diet bet. Here is the link if you like to join http://bit.ly/11wLXko

My obsessions

Ok I have been a horrible blogger!

First off it is my oldest niece's 10th birthday. Happy Birthday Sierra!!!!

Sorry this blog is going to be everywhere.

I have mentioned before when I get into something I kind of obsess over it. That could be good and bad. This semester is my first one back in about 7 years and I obsess over my grades. I worry about getting really good grades. Yes, I know no employee is going to look at my grades for employment but it's just something for me. It makes me feel good because I have struggled my whole life with reading a spelling (haven't you figured out by reading my blogs my grammar sucks).

My second obsess is my weight loss. I know it's not healthy to weigh yourself every day but I do. I helps me. If I lose I get excited and want to get back in the gym and continues to eat right. I want to keep the pounds falling off but if the number on the scale says I gained or staid the same I get my butt in gear. I watch what I eat closely and push myself in the gym. I do eat out because I don't want to cut things out completely but I weigh myself the next day to see what I am dealing with. This works for me. I still get Starbucks every big once in a while (closes one is and hour and a half away) and I eat my steak, cheese, and saucy gooey yummy food because if I say I can never have it again I will crash and stop eating healthy and binge eat but I have those few and far between.

Some of you know I did a Diet Bet online and loved it. I had to lose 4% of my body weight in 28 days. I had to lose 8.1 which I did plus some. My official loss was 10.2. I am really excited and I should find out how much I won soon. I also started another one. It keeps me on track because I do not like to lose money. As long as you lose it you get your money back and possibly more.

On another  subject, I have been thinking about finding a 5K around here but my itty bitty city doesn't really do much. I did fine a 5k in Roswell May 11 which I am going to attempt to do. I have been trying to get back into running again. I loved it but haven't done it in years. I have been doing some the past couple of weeks. I also have been trying to find other races but the only other is a Marathon, 1/2, and 5k on Sept 2. I was going to attempt to do the Marathon but the time line is cutting it close and I do not want to get hurt. Plus my husband has to work that day and if I am doing my first Marathon I would want him there. I have decided to just do the half marathon. I should have a good amount of time to train and not feel rushed. I will keep you guys updated.

BTW I need some new good healthy recipes because I have been making the same things over and over. Leave me a comment below with your favorites!!

In a rut!

Bloglovin
I can't get out of this rut I am in. I will eat good for 2 days then blow it. I think it has a lot to do with my husband being off for 7 days and he always wants to eat out. I know everyone says to check the website and look at the calories before hand but its impossible here. There is nothing but mom and pop shops that do not have websites or calories on menus. Most of the time the only place to eat is Mexican food. Oh! and a Chinese buffet that my husband insisted on going to and this happened.
I do not have many choices out here in this small town. We do have a Chilies and I love their margarita chicken but you can only go there so many times because they get pricey. We also went out of town this weekend and had a baby shower to go to as well so I was screwed. Gained a couple of pounds and I have to hurry and get them off because the dietbet I am on ends soon.

On a good note I worked out on Monday and did this.
Oh and I finally got some compression socks because I have been getting shin splints.
Ok I need help people. After that work out which was leg day my ass and thighs have been killing me. Tuesday and Wednesday I could barely sit down or get out of my car. I did work out Wednesday. I did the first day of C25K and arms but man I could barely do the first day of C25K because my legs were so sore! Anyone have advise. I love the feeling because I know I worked out hard but I don't want it to prevent me form working out the next day or not being able to work out as intense.

Struggles with losing weight

I am a fast food junkie! I love it. It's fast and it taste good. Plus I don't have to cook or clean up. It is so hard to give up but I haven't had it weeks. The worse part is my husband and son still want it and still get it.

Torture I tell you! I sat there and drank my unsweetened tea. After, we went to the park so the boys played can play while I ran and workout. It was so nice out.

We went home and I made me some chicken and veggies. It has been my quick go to meal that I love.

Another Struggle is finding the time to workout. I can only work out when my husband is home because I have no one to watch my son. Plus I babysit mon-fri. So I have to workout early in the morning or late at night. My husband was working days and so I would go work out from like 9-10:30 pm but we found out a 22 year old woman was sexually assaulted in the early early morning walking in the apartment complex. It scared my husband and I because he can't stay up to walk me to the gym and the complex is huge and its kind of a distance to walk. Not to mention these are new apartments and I have to walk through the constructions part that is dark still. My husband is on graveyards now so I try and get my work out in when he comes home before I start to babysit but still don't know what I'm going to do when he goes back to days.

Oh we can't forget the struggle of emotions and mind. "Its just a hand full of chip" It is never just a hand full of chips. I've been wanting my junk food or creamy food because I'm a cheese and sauce lover. Can't forget the fact my husband isn't working out or really watching what he's eating and loses 10 pounds. He said he was going to workout and eat right with me but that has yet to happen. So I get so frustrated because he is still losing some weight. It makes me feel like why try. I still try though. Another problem I have is when I get on a a "routine" to count my calories and workout I kind of obsess over it and it consumes me. I hate it. I need to meal prep better so I'm not thinking about food 24/7. Am I the only one?

So my new obsession food is

It's lettuce, Tyson fajita chicken, black beans (rinsed), feta cheese, Avocado, and salsa

I also made a taco bowl the other night and it was pretty good.

This post is kind of all over the place but I really want people to know everyone struggles. The weight doesn't just fall off. This past two weeks I have been at a standstill  I even gained a pound but this morning I pushed through. I finally lost my first 15 pounds but have a crap load to go. 50 pounds to my goal weight but I am going to take it 10 at a time. I weight this morning at 200.4 I was like are you kidding me .4 to be under 200. I almost wanted to try and pee to get it under but I accepted it. Now my new mini goal is 190. If you notive my weight chart thing on thte bottom I have been struggling back and forth with dieting and not but I think I finally got into my grove.

I joined a DietBet. There are different bets but this one cost $25. It is a 28 days to lose 4% of your body fat. If you don't you lose your $25. If you do you get the $25 back plus the pot of the money the people didn't pass gets divided up with the people that did lose the 4%. It started yesterday but it isn't too late to sign up. there are other. Different start dates and different prices check it out.

Biggest Loser Week 8

It's already week 8 and now I really need to focus. This week I feel I slacked. I had the best intensions in the beginning of the week then I lose it and I don't mean pounds. Well, I did lose 2 pounds and that is awesome but I feel I could of lost more if I staid on track. I got 3 workouts in but not the 5 I wanted and in the beginning of the week I ate very well but I ate out 4 times this week and 3 restaurants and 1 fast food. The hubby works shift work and when he is off he always wants to eat out!  To top it off or call it karma but I was eating really well then the first day we went out I had Mexican food. OMG I felt so sick!! I don't know what it was but I think it was from all the grease and oils they used but I wanted to puke. I know shame on me. Anyways besides those eating out meals everything else I ate was pretty healthy and there were times I wanted to just munch on something (chips & salsa or anything with cheese) but there wasn't anything to munch on in the house so that was good. I made it that way on purpose.

My weekend recap
Saturday I woke up with a  pounding headache that wouldn't go away. Every time I moved my head the headache would move so that determined  I had a sinus headache and sinus pressure. On top of that I had tons of homework due Sunday night so I had to try to get some done. (procrastinated big time this week)Didn't get much done.

Sunday I woke up to an even worse headache but I had so much homework it didn't matter. It took me about 4-5 hours to do my homework and my headache just got worse as the day went on. I took medicine we even sat in the Jacuzzi but nothing. So I have been up all night with this damn pain in the ass headache and can't seems to get rid of it.

Favorite of the week!!
Almost everyday for breakfast I have been drink this smoothie. It is Carnation breakfast powder no sugar added Milk Chocolate, with a cup of almond milk, a banana, and ice. I LOVE it!!! I love crunching on ice so it really helps when I have the munchies and it fills me up and taste so good.

Hubby said he would go on the diet with me but he is making it difficult. He has been off since Thursday and still hasn't gone to the gym but at least he is eating the healthy food I cook for him when he isn't begging to out and eat.

Biggest Loser: Week 7

I can't believe it is week 7 already.
Where did February go?
 I haven't even updated since week 3.
Sorry guys life hit me with moving in with friends then finally getting in to our apartment. Oh and school has taken up a lot of my time. If you have been reading my blogs you know that I finally got my husband to agree to go on a diet with me. I also have recruited my sister in law. She is only 15 but has been struggling her weight since she was little but hasn't really had the support to lose it. Not just that she doesn't really know the proper way to work out in the gym. So I am here to help her and me of course. I have always known how to lose weight just haven't had the motivation to do so. I tried to explain to her there is no magic pill or secret diet out there like people are trying to tell her. I told her it is simple calories in calories out. Well simple to say and understand but a struggle to do and I fully understand. I also know how hard it is to lose weight while every one in the house is drinking soda, eating chip, and cookies daily in front of you. I told her I will be her support and motivation to do it. I also told her there will be no excuses. She was like well what if I don't have a ride to your house to work out. My answer I WILL COME PICK YOU UP.

Sunday morning I woke up at 5:30 am to workout before my husband went to work. I did pretty good for my first work out since November and I got to use my heart rate monitor for the first time.

I felt good during the workout on the elliptical but then I went on the dread mill and was running/walking for a mile everything was fine until the end when I was running the last little bit my hip started to hurt. When I stopped everything was ok. I stretched went home took a shower and sat down to do my homework but when I got up to walk I was in so much pain I didn't want to walk. I took some ibuprofen and took a nap but when I woke up the medicine didn't do a thing. I was in bed all day.

Back in November I started to do insanity and every once in awhile my hip would hurt but I thought it was just sore from the work out but after I stopped working out I was still getting the pain every once in a while. If I sat wrong or too long it would get stiff and start hurting but never as bad as Sunday. Monday wasn't as bad but I didn't want to walk around too much but after I started picking up the house it loosened up and didn't feel too bad. I looked up hip pain and the 2 things that I think it could be say its not serious and it eventually will go away on its own but may take weeks or months but I haven't done any workout since November and my concern is its already been months.

I convinced my sister in law to go to the gym with me and I decided to only do the bike for 30 min then do some arm work outs.

After my work out I wasn't hurting like I did the day before and this morning it wasn't too bad but I still feel like the annoying soreness in my hip. I want to go see a doctor but I want to see a sports doctor and the nearest one in my small down is an hour and a half away.

I had a NSV today. I went to the grocery store starving (should never do that) but I got everything healthy and when I got home I made a turkey burger for lunch and everything was only 280 calories. Another workout tonight. Lets see how this one goes.

Hubby is joining me!!!

I am so excited. Every time I tried to lose weight I had to do it on my own. I did lose 30 pounds in 2 months once on my own but it was hard because I was living in a house full of people eating junk. This time my husband has agreed to go on a diet with me! We just moved into our new apartment a week ago and there is a 24 hour gym here so that helps. More exciting news is my dad sent me some money for my birthday and I bought a Ninja!

I am super excited about it and I can't wait. I even got some smoothies ingredients today!

I live in this really small town that has nothing. Unless you lived like I have in a big city then move to a little town you may not understand but when I saw this I wanted to squeal. I loved Jamba Juice when I lived in California and Razzmatazz was my favorite! So I can't wait to try out the Ninja and my new smoothie.

Friday night I went on a dinner date with my husband and son.

Oh and we tried out the new Jacuzzi!

I am going to try and attempt to get up early in the morning before my husband goes to work and try out the new gym. We will see how that goes. I got some new work out pants to motivate me. I will let you all know.

Sorry if this is too much for some but I thought it was funny!

I'm back!

That's right I am finally back!!!
We got our keys to our new apartment on the 8th, my birthday was the 9th, and I have been trying to move in by myself because my husband has been working. He was off Sunday so we got some bigger items in but the apartment is still kind of empty. I finally got our internet and cable turn on last night. Thank goodness because I have online classes and now I have a lot to catch up on. I have been driving to Arby's to do my homework and quizzes. Ya Arby's to do school work. That's really good on my diet. So bad news is I gained a pound. The good news is it was only a pound! I was expecting more because we ate out a lot!

I am still trying to get stuffed moved in and  catch up on school but I am able to cook dinner at home finally. Once everything is moved in I will be taking advantage the 24 hour gym the apartments provide. I will let you know how it goes. Maybe take a picture of my sweatiness on one of the machines.

Here is a picture of my son taking a bath in his very own bathtub.

This kid cracks me up. He told his daddy that if he had to poop he had to go in his bathroom because he stinks lol. Kids say the darnedest things.

Thanks to the people that have been sticking around letting me vent in my last couple of post. Positives coming soon!

Sometimes I just want to scream!

This might be a little venting...Sorry I will try and look at the positive stuff at the end to help me change my mood but right now I am tired of everything going wrong!!!

I haven't weighed my self because I know it will be bad
Too much eating out.
We are living with our friends right now and it seems like my husband prefers to eat out. We just don't want to cause more trouble for our friends. They have 3 kids in the house and one on the way. Not to mention us with our little one. It's a house full. I am extremely grateful though because we would be staying in a motel room if it wasn't for them.

Problem 1
We were told we can move into our new apartment February 8 the only problem is my husband will be working from 8-8(day shift) so he can't been there to sign the lease and he has to be there. So we might not be able to sign it until February 11. Bad part is he goes on graveyards from 8-8. He will be able to sign the papers but I have to move that week by myself. Plus I babysit an autistic boy during the week. (upstairs apartment with 2 toddlers)

Problem 2
My son has to get an EEG, EKG, and blood work. He is ok just the doctor wants to check him out before he puts him on medicine. Well bad news the EEG cost $471 and the EKG $380 and that is with insurance. Don't know what the blood work is going to cost us. Not to mention we have to pay our rent for the apartment this week as well. We just moved the test for next pay period so not everything is in the same week. Don't get me wrong I am extremely grateful that my son is healthy and most people have way worse medical bills. This is just me venting.

Problem 3
I just started college this semester and all my classes are online. We don't have internet so I have to makes sure I do my homework whenever I get the chance. When we move into the new apartment I know I wont be able to get internet right away because it always takes a week or two for them to come and hook it up.

I know I am blessed with an amazing loving husband and a healthy lovable son. My family is happy and healthy and that is all that matters but sometimes we can get in a rut.

Here are the good things going on.
I do have a place to live until the apartment is ready.
My husband has a good job that he likes.
I am able to be a stay at home mom.
I just started college.
My school started a biggest loser challenge. $20 a team. 2 people a team.
The apartments have a business center so I can do my homework until our internet is put in.
There will be a 24 gym at the apartments and I can't wait!
My birthday is on the 9th.

If your still reading this thank you for sticking around and letting me vent. I will try and put a happier post soon.

Here is my handsome son with his new hair cut. He loves subway. He asks for it everyday!
